Dave Cooley is a Principal at Cooley Public Strategies and brings uncommon experience and intuition to any project. He has built his reputation on a relentless determination to win. With more than 25 years in public affairs, market positioning, and politics, Cooley has consulted on major economic development recruitment and has a record of government procurement success for clients that span both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. He has consulted more than three dozen healthcare companies and has led political, corporate, and nonprofit campaigns in 39 states. Cooley has also directed campaigns for approval and construction of Nashville’s arena, NFL stadium, and the Downtown Library, and crafted public-private partnerships (P3s), where projects hinge on innovative financing.
He has served as the Deputy Governor of Tennessee as well as Chief of Staff for the Mayor of Nashville. He serves as the Chair of the Nashville Regional Truman Scholarship Selection Committee, where he has served since 1993. He serves on the boards of the Tennessee Tech Foundation, the Music City Bowl, the Nashville Sports Council and the Metro Gender Equity Council.
