Roger Shirley is a veteran communications professional serving in a consulting role with CPS in the areas of writing, editing and research. He most recently was at Nashville-based MP&F Strategic Communications for 25 years, where he was Editorial Director before his retirement in 2021. Prior to his work at MP&F, Shirley was a print journalist for 19 years as a reporter and editor at the Bristol (Va.) Herald Courier, Nashville Banner and Nashville Business Journal, where he was editor.

A native of Fort Payne, Ala., he also held positions as press secretary for a Virginia congressional campaign and media coordinator for the Yes for Nashville referendum campaign, which cleared the way for the relocation of the Tennessee Titans from Houston.
